South Australia, in partnership with the Australian Government, is investing $10 million through the National Skills Agreement to strengthen and grow the vocational education and training (VET) and adult community education (ACE) workforce.
Skills SA is committed to building a resilient and high-quality training system in South Australia by investing in educator excellence and development.
Why it matters:
With major projects in defence, construction, early childhood, and health underway, South Australia needs more skilled workers – and more educators to train them. VET educators are currently a skill shortage occupation in our state.
Our goals:
- Grow the South Australian workforce by over 300 educators in priority areas
- Support and retain the existing workforce of approximately 2,200 VET educators and 70 ACE educators through targeted development initiatives.
