The Government of South Australia invests in initiatives that boost access to quality training in priority sectors, promotes skills development among under-represented groups and regional communities, and enhances the capability and innovation of training providers in delivering industry-relevant skills. Skills SA offer grant opportunities that support the development of foundation skills, address critical skill shortages and support workforce participation and development in key industries.

Application tips

  2. Align with priorities – Demonstrate how your project addresses the identified skills shortages or workforce needs.
  3. Provide clear outcomes – Outline measurable outcomes and how they will meet the grant criteria.

  5. Review your application or seek feedback – Before submission, read through your application and/or seek feedback from experienced peers in your organisation.

Adult Community Education projects

Overview
Projects to support adult learners develop and improve their foundation skills and transition to vocational education, training or employment.

Eligibility
Community-based organisations, organisations with a training delivery relationship with a community-based organisation, or a non-government Registered Training Organisation (RTO) with a current Skills SA FAA.

Adult Community Education set-up grants

Overview

Establishment of new providers in regions to deliver small volumes of Adult Community Education level 1 training places and increasing scale on a sustainable longer-term basis.

Equipment and Capital grants

Overview
Support training providers to invest in contemporary infrastructure, equipment and technology to increase training quality and build capacity in areas of skills demand and industry priority sectors.

Eligibility
Organisations with a current Funded Activities Agreement with Skills SA who are not-for-profit and/or industry-based and/or Aboriginal owned training providers, Adult Community Education providers and TAFE SA.

Fee-Free Construction

Overview

Training places with non-Government registered training organisations in select construction courses to increase the pipeline of skilled workers to the construction industry

The Zahra Foundation provided a safe and supporting environment for Anne to regain her confidence and learn new skills. Completing an adult community education course gave Anne the confidence to rebuild her life. She has bought herself a house and now volunteers and works part-time.
